DK Metcalf heads to Steel City.
The Seahawks and Steelers pulled away the blockbuster trade that sent star wide receivers to Pittsburgh in exchange for the Steelers' second-round pick in the draft this April, with Metcalf winning a new five-year, $150 million contract from his new club. All Tom Pelissero on the NFL network.
The deal includes two teams who will trade picks in the sixth and seventh rounds of this year's draft. ESPN's Adam Schefter reported.
Before the trade, the report showed that Metcalf wanted to go to a city with warm weather in all sorts of trades, but his representatives pushed it back on Sunday night, according to Pericero.
According to the report, Metcalf is “all in” among his new team and Chiefs among his new teams and what he wanted from his new team, with the Chiefs being a fresh start, a competitive team and a new contract.
Metcalf enters the final year of his three-year extension that he signed back in 2022, with the remaining year of that contract worth $18 million.
The Steelers have earned receivers who have posted at least 1,000 yards in three of his six NFL seasons in his career, and have come out in 2024 with 992 receiving yards and five Seahawks touchdowns.

The wide receiver then joins the Steelers team who did not properly replace Diontae Johnson after trading him last March.
George Pickens led the Steelers wide receiver group for 900 yards and three touchdowns last year.
Steelers general manager Omar Khan told reporters in Combeyte that his team is active in free agency and appears to have made a quick start just before the legal tampering period begins on Monday.
The big question now is who will throw football at Metcalf at the start of the season?
The Steelers are said to be interested in bringing back Justin Fields, but he hasn't re-signed the team yet.
