Trump Imposes Additional 25% Tariff On Canadian Steel And Aluminum In Retaliation For Ontario’s Electricity Tariff

President Donald Trump announced on Tuesday that he ordered an additional 25% tariff on Canadian steel and aluminum imports after neighboring countries charged more than 25% on electricity in three border states.

The tariffs will come into effect Wednesday morning, bringing up to 50% of the total US collection on Canada's steel and aluminum. Trump also called on Canada to eliminate 250% to 390% tariffs on American dairy products.

Announcement by 47th The president comes after Ontario Prime Minister Doug Ford slapped a 25% extra charge for energy exports to three U.S. state customers in Canada, New York, Michigan and Minnesota. Ford also threatened to cut off exports.

“I will soon declare a national emergency regarding electricity within the threatened region, which will allow the United States to do what it has to do to mitigate this abusive threat from Canada,” Trump writes of the True Society.

“Other terrible, if tariffs do not drop similarly by Canada for a long time, I will increase significantly on April 2nd if it will increase similarly.ndcar tariffs coming to the United States that essentially permanently close Canadian auto manufacturing operations. ”

This comes after Trump said on Monday that Canada is a “tax abuser” and that on April 2nd he will retrieve all his money from his neighboring countrynd.

“Despite the fact that Canada charges the US to 250% to 390% tariffs on many of our produce, Ontario has announced a 25% extra charge for 'electricity'.

“Our tariffs are mutual, so we'll just get everything back on April 2nd,” Trump said his tariff plans will begin.

Meanwhile, Trump plans to implement more tariffs on imports from around the world, including Japan and the European Union, in early April.
