Winnipeg, Manitoba – Brett Berard has shown both fiery passion and admirationable perseverance in the final six months of his hockey career, when he first reached NHL levels at the end of November.
He has played 23 games for the Rangers so far this season and scored four goals.
“I really don't know if there's any word about what I expected,” Bellard told me in a post from a food stall in the Canadian Life Centre Visiting Locker Room Tuesday morning. “But it was an absolute explosion. Playing in the NHL is a dream for every kid, so I'm trying to take it all in. I'm not really sure if it's still totally hitting me. It's everything you dream of.
“We're trying to build each game. Not every game is perfect, but we're trying to incorporate everything and build confidence and build confidence. Good. It was a lot of fun.”
