Steelers in for ‘garbage’ season if they sign Aaron Rodgers: Ryan Clark

Ryan Clark is not among those eager to see Aaron Rodgers become king of the Steelers Kingdom.

Former Pittsburgh safe Clark went on a wild “Lion King”-themed rant about why Blacks and Gold shouldn't add Rogers (aka scars) to the “Wheel of Life,” an NFL free agency.

“I think (Steelers coach) Mike Tomlin can do the job, and Mike Tomlin's personality is finding the best in every situation to help his team reach their full potential,” Clark said on Wednesday's “Get Up.” “Suppose you put scars on your team. You know the scars from the Mufasa movie and the Lion King. Here, Mufasa is about to become the brother of the scar. Do you know what's in front of the scar? It was a hawk. Do you know the meaning of taka? garbage. In vain. That's exactly what happens if you bring Aaron Rodgers there. You can waste the season. You can spend the garbage season. ”

As the Steelers and Giants fight it for Rogers' service, Clark makes it clear that if Pittsburgh adds four MVPs, he doesn't expect Pittsburgh to sing “Hakuna Matatata.”

Rodgers is at his best, representing an upgrade to Steelers Justin Fields and Russell Wilson last year, but Clark insisted that the franchise should be “prepared” to clash with offensive coordinators Arthur Smith and receivers DK Metalf and George Pickens.

The latter is known to be fine, and Rogers is known to be asking for the two to Mufasa be Simba.

The two productive receivers may have some issues with the quarterback saying, “Do this,” “I'm out there,” and “Stop it.”

Rogers had a problem calling Mike Williams for running the wrong route last year, appearing on the same page as Garrett Wilson.

“Not only Aaron Rogers, but also Arthur Smith and Aaron Rogers can have a locker room where they are trying to figure out who wins the fight that they want to attack,” Clark said in his long rant. “I know what Arthur Smith wants. He wants to run football, not the way Aaron Rodgers likes to play football.

“It's great to get DK Metcalf and Georgie Pickens there, but there are two crashouts. So you have two crashouts on the wide receiver and then add a quiet crashout at the quarterback? No hell.”

These statements are not the first time Clark fired a shot at Rogers and called him a “scam” in December.

Rogers ripped commentators making comments to stay relevant.

“You have the opportunity to say these acinins because someone is paying you.

He added: “This guy is a scam. He was a scam. He acts like he is above everyone and everything.”

In “The Lion King,” there is the moment when Simba meets his ultimate partner, Nara. Long layoffs and cheerful and relaxed Meerkat, Timon, and eloquently sing “in disaster.”

The Giants and Steelers look dry enough to believe that, like the Jets, a disaster will not fall on them if they sign Rogers.

Clark provided his harsh warning, as when Mufasa told his son to avoid certain parts of their kingdom.

“This is not something I feel in my soul as someone who loves black and gold. I'm not all warm and tingly about this,” Clark said. “We'll become like a land of pride. Do you know what prideland is? That's where SCAR and HYENAS were. That's where we end up, and the shadows were cast. No one wants to be a place of shadows (Mike Greenberg). Timon and Pumbaa are not here to save us. That little bird (Zaz) runs around, sings any song he's singing, the mighty king, no. That's not.”
