The 71-year-old was expected to answer questions before the Senate's Health, Education, Labor and Pension (Help) Committee on Thursday, but a White House spokesman confirmed he has been under consideration for longer, according to multiple reports.

The heart changes come after Robert F. Kennedy Jr., Secretary of Health and Human Services. axiosfirst reported on Weldon's withdrawal.

“It has been revealed that the votes were not in the Senate to confirm him. A source familiar with the nomination told Fox News Digital, but there is no official reason why the Trump administration took the nomination.

Weldon raised his eyebrows after saying there was a link between vaccination and autism, saying mercury was a potential cause.

Florida conservatives served in Congress from 1995 to 2009. His video on vaccine skepticism began to become word of mouth this week due to his scheduled testimony before a Senate committee.

While at his home, Weldon co-hosted the proposed law with former president Carolyn Maloney (DN.Y.) banning mercury in vaccines.

Meanwhile, Kennedy was met with the same question during a Senate committee when he heard about his thoughts on measles, the hepatitis B vaccine and polio.

He was ultimately able to win the majority after Help Committee Chairman Bill Cassidy (R-La.) gave him his approval along with other Republicans.
