Rangers top Wild in OT to snap losing skid

St. Paul, Minnesota – After bleeding last week or so, the Rangers finally put up the patch.

The Braden Schneider overtime winner snapped a 3-2 win over Wild at Xcel Energy Center on Thursday night, snapping a four-game losing skid for Blueshirts.

The Blue Jackets still have games, but the Rangers confronted the perfect revenge game in Columbus on Saturday after giving up seven on the Blue Jackets in a shattering loss last weekend.

A victory on Saturday will push Rangers into a playoff position over Columbus.

It wasn't an eventful game for either team, but it was a relatively efficient game for the Rangers.

The wild have been on a downward trajectory since the NHL returned from the four-nation break, 4-5 in their first nine games before their matchup with the Rangers on Thursday night.

Despite their struggles exacerbated by the loss of star forward Kiril Kaprizov, they still have a 7-point cushion on the top wildcard spot.

After missing out on the playoffs last season, Wild is looking for his first postseason series victory since 2015.

According to Natural Stat Trick, the newly fake lines of Artemi Panarin, Vincent Trocheck and Will Cuylle made a very strong debut, abandoning their enemies 9-2 through Regulation.

Trocheck scored in the second term with his first goal since February 7th.

To gather his own rebounds and fill it, Trocheck notched the 18th goal of the season, bringing the Rangers up 1-0 with the 6:45 mark in the center frame.

However, Minnesota managed to get it to work, but in the early part of the third season they achieved their power play goals.

After Matt Lempe was called for interference, Marcus Johansson carved a Rangers penalty kill and tied the game in one inning with a smooth lister from the slot.

Johnny Brozinski then showed off his shots and regained the blues shirt lead.

As Zach Jones entered the zone, Brozinski gathered a pass and scored the seventh goal of the season to give the Rangers a 2-1 lead.

Jones later placed Wild on his fourth power play, fiercely claiming a high, high-level penalty of four minutes, rated at the 16:39 mark in the third season.

Frederick Gaudlow buried Rangers goalkeeper Igor Shesterkin on one right, giving Wild a 2-4 show with a male advantage in Los Angeles.
