Davante Adams reveals how Sean McVay recruited him to the Rams

Sean McVay was a certified football savant, a difference from former jet receiver Davante Adams.

Adams has a surprising signing with the Los Angeles Rams in free agency after deciding to move on from longtime star wide receiver Cooper Kupp.

“He's breaking all the clips,” Adams explained to the reporter at his introductory press conference.

“It shows the meaning of the ball to him, how much prioritized me to him and others.”

Adams called McVay “offensive” when asked to explain his new coach before explaining what the clip would look like.

“The first one was seven minutes, but he sent out another one, perhaps two more minutes, where he's going through everything,” Adams said. “When I was watching it, I thought he made the job go on TV.”

Adams has yet to win a Super Bowl ring and will join a strong roster locked in by quarterback Matthew Stafford, who has been re-signed by the Rams.

McVay, 39, won the Super Bowl as Rams coach in 2022, led by Kupp and former star Odell Beckham Jr.

Perhaps McVay is seeing a similar tandem in 2025. Because Pukanakua shows his star ability, and Adams can fill in the explosive external receiver role that Beckham did during the Super Bowl run season.

Adams was extremely productive in 2024 with two scary teams. Because they spent their fifth 1,000-yard season split between the Raiders and Jets in just 14 games.

He was released this offseason by the Jets due to a massive cap hit that the Jets were unable to absorb.

Adams was released along with his longtime teammate Aaron Rodgers. Aaron Rodgers has yet to make a decision on where he will play next season.
