Andrea Guerra, CEO of luxury fashion group Prada, flew to New York. The source told Reuters. The group is discussing Versace, owned by Capri Holdings, on a deal that unites two biggest names in Italian fashion.
On a trip to US financial capital, Guerra is accompanied by Lorenzo Bateri, the son of the group's main shareholders, Mitcia Prada and Patrizio Bateri.

Prada and Capri Holdings declined to comment. Reuters could not confirm whether Guerra's trip was related to talks with Capri Holdings about a potential Versace deal.
Earlier this month, Prada is said to be close to a deal to buy Versace for a price of around 1.5 billion euros ($1.64 billion).
On February 20, a source close to the issue told Reuters that Prada was given four weeks to carry out a small-scale evaluation of financial data from its rivals.
Prada is also reported to be interested in purchasing another Capri brand, Jimmy Chew.
