Jourdan Lewis dishes on change of scenery, takes jab at Cowboys

The Dallas Cowboys bid farewell to the familiar face of their free agency this week.

DeMarcus Lawrence's tenure with Dallas ended when he agreed to a three-year contract with the Seattle Seahawks.

Jordan Lewis also left Dallas after agreeing to a three-year deal with the Jacksonville Jaguars.

The 29-year-old defensive back revealed that he had experienced some frustration during his eight seasons with the Cowboys.

A video has surfaced on social media for Jaguar defensive coordinator Anthony Campanile about how Lewis fits into Jacksonville's defensive scheme. An interviewer with the Campanile described Lewis as a “drink-mixed straw” for Dallas' defense.

The exchange clearly caught Lewis' attention.

The comment appeared to raise concerns about the way Lewis was deployed in the Cowboys defense. He noted that he scored the “highest rated slot coverage grade” in the NFL. Lewis also suggested that the defensive back is responsible for sticking to the opposing wide receivers assigned throughout a particular game.

“With the highest rated slot coverage grade, all we did was Match and Man.” Lewis wrote In another X post.

Lewis also responded to his followers who said that the Philadelphia Eagles cornerback Cooper Dejean was better than Lewis. The veteran told the troll to watch the films when the Cowboys played the Carolina Panthers last season and when the Eagles played Carolina.

Lewis spent eight seasons in Dallas after being drafted in the third round of Michigan State in 2017. He made a total of 330 tackles, nine intercepts and nine fumble recovery during his tenure with the Cowboys.

The nausea between Lawrence and Parsons was caused by the former Cowboys pass rusher's suggestion that the franchise will not win a Super Bowl in the near future.

“The changing scenery is always good, but Dallas is my home. I've created a house there, my family lives there. I'll be there forever. But I'm sure I'm not going to win the Super Bowl there.
