It Was an ‘Act of Strength’ to Stop Government Shutdown

Senate minority leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) on CNN's “lead” on Friday claims that voting for the House funding bill to prevent the federal government from shutting down is an “act of strength.”

Schumer said: “We always knew there was a disagreement, but I felt. The people who voted with me felt that it was just as bad as CR. The government closures allow Donald Trump, Elon Musk and Doge to decide on essential services, giving them almost the full power of what to close. If Snap's kids decide they shouldn't get food, they can cut it out immediately. That would have been a much worse outcome.”

He continued. We all know that Musk, Doge and Trump want to despise the federal government. ”

Schumer added: And I knew that most people wouldn't agree with me. But I'm sure I did the right thing. I think history proves that. ”
