Bulls championship banners damaged by concert pyrotechnics

This regular season will not see the Bulls Championship banner again.

After a recent concert at United Center in Chicago, featuring Grace, Sevendust for three days; The banner has been deleted When arena staff finds “minor damage” to them.

Fireworks at the event, located directly under the Bulls' six NBA Championship banners, caused serious heat damage and distorted the low parts of these iconic symbols.

“United Center is currently working with the Bulls to explore options to repair these banners,” the United Center has communicated in a statement, according to the Associated Press. “The banners are not in place for the rest of this season, but I expect to be back next season.”

As a result, the banner was removed for the remainder of the 2024-25 season.

The Bulls displayed banners to commemorate the 1991-93 and 1996-98 NBA titles, with Michael Jordan of course leading.

Other Bulls banners nearby are nine Division Championships and six conference titles hanging from the rafters for events at United Center, including a game played by the NHL's Blackhawks.

The Chicago Tribune reported The venue said, “We originally hoped that the banner would be returned to the rafters in Thursday's match against Brooklyn Net.”

However, repairs will not be completed until the season is over.

The Bulls are currently the 10th seed in the 28-38 Eastern Conference.

They will probably be on the play-in, and at 10 o'clock they will need to win two sudden death games to advance to the playoffs.
