Min Woo Lee and Akshay Bhatia posted a 6-under 66 pair on Friday, heading to the top of the leaderboard in their 51st Player Championship.
Lee has not yet won the PGA Tour, and his biggest victory so far is the 2021 Scotland Open. The Australian defeated Thomas Detley and Matthew Fitzpatrick at the Renaissance Club of the time, and has two other DP World Tour victories to his name.
Meanwhile, Batia won the Valero Texas Open to beat Denny McCarthy in the playoffs last year. His victory at TPC San Antonio punched tickets to Augusta National the following week as Batia became the first drive, chip and putt competing in the Masters.
However, the victory of any of these players in TPC Sawgrass will hinder them to another tier of the PGA Tour. They are both young and incredible talent, but have yet to win a big event. This could change this weekend with TPC Sawgrass.
