Indiana police officers have been accused of holding signs that threaten their siblings as punishment for puffing as they are not allowed to stand outside in frozen temperatures and wear lip gloss.
Logansport police officer Cody Scott and his wife Kylie Scott were both charged with two counts of felony child negligence. Officers were also on leave, WTHR reported.
On January 19th, when it was only 18 degrees outside, witnesses observed the girl standing outside at a sign calling her 911.
“I want to stab my brother and kill him – I take antipsychotics – if you need to sympathize – then give it to the victim,” the sign reads.

However, Scott responded to the scene along with his supervisor and spoke to the witnesses involved.
“This baby is standing here in the cold, freezing cold with a sign,” the caller told Scott, according to WTHR, body camera footage showed.
Scott admitted that he was responsible for the girl's treatment, but defended his actions.
“Yeah, she comes out here every 30 minutes and gets back and warms up every 10 minutes,” he said.
While they spoke, the “older man” lifted up and expressed concern to the girl as well, asking Scott why he had to stay in the cold with threatening signs.

“Well, I'm not giving any other punishment that worked for her except for physically turning her over,” Scott said.
“She is threatening to kill my family, she wants to embarrass us, she wants to urinate herself and destroy the things in the house. [Department of Child Services] A caseworker is involved, she has been in treatment for three years and has a wraparound program at school,” he added.
Scott told the 911 caller that his daughter was taken to hospital twice but was “tapked out.”
“I threatened not to pick her up,” Scott told the caller. He said he relented after being warned that if he did not pick her up, the Department of Children's Services would be notified of his waiver.
Scott's wife later told investigators that she was forced to hold the sign after she pouted when she was told she couldn't wear lip gloss.
However, this was not the first time a girl had to hold a sign.

The girl's caseworker said in one incident that her parents signed her to school and told her, “I'll pee everything and hide it like a cat.” Her school also reported that she was forced to carry a sign at a Walmart that read, “I lie to hurt others.”
The girl's parents admitted she suffered from a behavioral disorder that required medication. This was an attempt by investigators to justify their actions. However, investigators said the entry could exacerbate a suspicious crime.
On Wednesday, the Logansport Public Works Commission voted to make Scott an unpaid leave during the investigation.
Police Chief Logansport said he placed Scott on vacation and handed the investigation to Indiana State Police “within hours” of the January incident.
