The 54 hole leader has no good history in TPC sawgrass. But JJ Spaun wants to break that mold.
Since 2007, nine players have retained a one-shot advantage with 54 holes, and none have won. Justin Ray. This includes last year when Xander Schauffele took one lead after three rounds. But Scotty Schaeffler passed him in his historic final round of 64 to acquire a player for the second year in a row.
Everything happens considering the wind continues to blow on Sunday. However, Spaun handled the more dangerous situation than anyone else on Saturday, firing a 2-under 70 to control the championship with the 54-hole mark. It's not yet seen whether he continues to play well under the line's final round pressure.
Another important info from Sunday's final round is that the PGA Tour increased its tee time to respond to bad weather in an afternoon to attack northeast Florida. The final pairing will be off at 10am ET and everyone will play with three zamares from the split tee as the tour hopes to finish play by 3pm.
