Canucks’ Filip Chytil suffers concussion from ugly hit

Former ranger Philip Chitil is on concussion protocol after receiving an ugly hit from Blackhawks forward Jason Dickinson on Saturday night.

The Canucks CTOLD reporter is bad news about Chytil's condition on Sunday and the centre was essentially put into protocols.

“I talked a little with him today,” Totchet said. According to the state. “He felt okay, nothing great. He goes through every day and see how he feels about his type. He has some. [concussions] In the past, we will see what this will turn out.

“Sometimes, they can turn quickly, so you need to stay positive.”

Chytil was limited to just 10 games during the 2023-24 season, but earlier this year he dealt with concussion issues while he was still in New York.

His ability to stay healthy after he was traded is a field of concern for the Canucks to beat the Black Hawks on Saturday night, and a horrifying hit reignited them.

Chitil tracks the puck along the board as Dickinson hits him, his head bumping into the glass, causing him to fall into the ice.

He was late to wake up after a hit and he didn't go back to the game afterwards.

Ice staff did not call a penalty for the play. The NHL does not mention any supplemental discipline that could be communicated.

Totchet said the league's players' safety department “knows what they're doing” and “faith.”

He added that he intends to continue trying to educate his players about the situation, whether they need to hold hits or not.

“I'll try to tell our players when you're about to hit a guy, and you'll see the hit name [name plate]you have to cancel it, or you have to give up,” Totchet said.

In 15 games with the Canucks since the trade, Chytil has two goals and four assists.
