During a volatile landing on Sunday night, the wings of a Delta Air Lines plane hit the runway at Lagardia Airport.
According to the Federal Aviation Administration, the pilot was back home from Jacksonville, Florida when the pilot attempted a go-around following a “unsteady approach.”
Operations are considered a routine in which the pilot pauses the landing approach and returns the plane to an altitude and configuration that fits into another landing approach.
During the go-around, the left wing of the plane struck the runway.
All 80 people on board were safely disembarked from the aircraft and remained on the ground at LaGuardia until Monday. No injuries have been reported.
“The Endeavour Air Flight Crew followed established procedures to safely enact the go-around at New York Ra Guardia. The aircraft landed safely and proceeded to the arrival gate,” Delta wrote in a statement. “He apologized to the client.”

The flight was run by Endeavor, an airline in the same region that was involved in the Toronto flight that set fire to fire while about to land last month.
The FAA said it would begin an investigation.
