VIDEO: Trump says all of the JFK files will be released Tuesday

President Donald Trump announced Monday that all files related to the assassination of John F. Kennedy will be released on Tuesday.

“We're releasing and providing all of Kennedy's files tomorrow, so people have been waiting for this for decades,” said the president, who was speaking to a reporter at the Kennedy Center in Washington, D.C.

“I don't think we'll edit anything. I said not to edit. I can't edit it.”

“And I directed my people who are responsible, many different people, [Director of National Intelligence] Tarshi Gabbard,” he added.

“It's going to be released tomorrow,” Trump said. “We have an incredible amount of paper. You've done a lot of reading. I don't think we're going to edit anything. I told you not to edit. You can't edit it.”

He told reporters that he had seen the files and that they were very interesting but did not give details.

“But we're going to release the JFK file. That's going to be tomorrow,” he added. “It's about 80,000 pages. So it's a lot and you make your own resolve.”

In February, Trump was tasked with releasing the JFK file by Republican Rep. Anna Paulina Luna from Florida.

“This is no longer a bold promised task force, it simply declines unrelatedly or sends strong wording letters,” Luna said.

“This is a ruthless pursuit of truth and transparency, and it won't stop until the American people get the answer they deserve,” she added. “We cut out bureaucracy, challenge the stone walls, and ensure that Americans will ultimately get the truth that they have been denied too long.”

On Tuesday, Sen. Tom Cotton (R-Ark.) denied the charges from Tucker Carlson. The person was in favor of releasing the assassination file, which blocked the employment of someone in the intelligence news community. Carlson implied that the CIA or another government department had infringed the cotton to keep the records secret.
