The co-owner of Queens Auto Body Shop was found dead in a blood pool inside his business Monday afternoon, authorities and sources said.
The 65-year-old man had unconsciously not responded to the power tools in Mechnico Autowalks at Cross Island Parkway near 149th Avenue in Whitestone when his brother found him around 3pm and called 911.
He had visible cuts in his neck and elbows, and blood was piled up around him, authorities and sources said.
The man, who was not immediately identified by police, was declared dead at the scene by an EMS worker.
The store had been closed at the time of the horrifying discovery, sources said.
It will not be immediately clear whether the crime is suspected, and the city's medical inspector's office will officially decide how he died.
