ZZ Top Drummer Frank Beard is on leave for upcoming medical procedures.
Sunday, the band's official Instagram account Beard, 75, has announced that he will be leaving the elevation tour as he tends to become a “health problem.”
“The Shelter Music Group, executive at ZZ Top, has announced that band drummer Frank Beard has temporarily left the current tour to attend health issues that need to be focused on soon,” the message read.

“Beard, along with ZZ fellow Billy F Gibbons and Elwood Francis, is currently on his first elevation tour since March 5th, tentatively attracting longtime high-tech member and percussionist and drummer John Douglas.”

“Douglas has maintained close relationships with his past group whiskers and bandmates.”
“He looks forward to a quick recovery,” the post concluded.

This is not the first time health concerns have affected the band and their members.
In 2021, the band announced the sudden death of longtime guitarist Dusty Hill.
“We are saddened by the news that our compadler, Dusty Hill, has passed away today, sleeping at our Houston, Texas home,” the band said in a Fox News statement at the time. “We, along with a legion of top ZZ fans around the world, miss out on your lasting commitment to providing your immovable presence, your good nature and its monumental bottom to the “top.” ”

At the time, Hill was dealing with health concerns related to hip problems, but the band Previously It was revealedadded that they are waiting for a “speech recovery” and hoping to “return to the pronto.”
