The end of the college baseball game between Jackson State and Prairie View A&M turned into a complete brawl after a walk-off victory by one of the SWAC teams.
Saturday's slowdown came after Prairie View A&M Senior Trenton Bush hit a walk-off double and began celebrating his winning hit in his game with nearly 2 bases.
The scene quickly fell into chaos, with nine players interrupted by SWAC in four games.
While the Prairie View celebration took place, Jackson state left fielder Davion Hull and created Beeline for the Prairie View A&M celebration.
He then appeared to be protruding the other player, urging the scrum to break out, and the situation escalated from there.
The push and push continued between both sides, but due to camera distance it was difficult to identify what had happened while both teams were on the field.
Eventually, when the team was separated, Jackson State outfielder/pitcher Arjun Fuerta picked up a Bush bat and threw it towards the crowd. According to Clarion Ledger.
We could hear that the public address announcer at Tankersley Field told fans not to run to the field while the brawl was underway.
“All fans on the field will be banned. If you are a fan or parent of the field, you will be banned. All players will go to the dugout,” he said.
Both schools were fined $25,000 for the incident caused by the conference.
According to Clarion Ledger, SWAC did not name the suspended players, but six players from Jackson State and three players from Prairie View A&M will be banned.
Despite Brouhaha, both sides closed the series, with Prairie View A&M winning the series in Sunday's game, 9-5.
