Ty Cobb discussed the matter on CNN’s “Erin Burnett Outfront” on Tuesday, saying that the President’s comments were not an oath, but an oath to serve and protect the Constitution.
His comments are linked to the Trump administration’s struggles over the deportation of immigrants in Venezuela and the Tren de Aragua gang’s federal judge.
The President was also questioned by Laura Ingraham on Fox News about continuing flights to El Salvador despite a court order from U.S. District Judge James Boasberg.
Trump replied, “I have never violated the court’s orders. And won’t do it in the future?” adding that he knows the court better than the judges.
Cobb warned that Trump’s “march to power, praise and wealth” was moving, defending district judges and describing Boasberg as the country’s most “qualified” jurist to handle such cases.
