Knicks signing veteran PJ Tucker to another 10-day contract

CHARLOTTE — The Knicks signed PJ Tucker on their second 10-day contract on Thursday, the Post learned.

Tucker, 39, played modestly on his first 10-day contract that expired Wednesday night, but quickly became a popular figure in the locker room.

Tucker's next contract runs until March 29th and includes five more games.

After that expires, the Knicks have to sign Tucker for the rest of the season and either make the playoffs or give up him.

Tucker recorded two minutes of his season debut on Wednesday night in garbage time, losing to the Spurs.

Prior to that, he hadn't played since the 2024 playoffs with the Clippers.

Though Tucker was never expected to make much of a contribution to the court, league sources said the appeal of signing him was the value of his leadership.

Tom Thibodeau has recently settled into a bench rotation with Mitchell Robinson, Cam Payne, Laundry Chamett and precious Achihua as reserves.
