Michael Jordan’s Son Admits to Substance Abuse Following Arrest

Marcus Jordan, son of NBA legend Michael Jordan, was arrested for possession of cocaine, resisted arrest and admitted to substance abuse after causing property damage to a DUI.

As reported by Breitbart News in February, Marcus Jordan was arrested in Florida and for resisting arrest. He is said to have been drinking at the Florida Strip Club before driving, but later hit the railway tracks.

“I stood on the window and immediately detected the smell of alcoholic beverages coming from the vehicle,” the arrest officer wrote in an affidavit obtained by NBC News. “The defendant kept saying he needed to go in the wrong direction and help him get the car out of the railroad tracks. I noticed the driver was breaking his speech and was confused as to where he was. I noticed the driver had red, blood and glassy eyes.”

Approximately six weeks after his arrest, Marcus Jordan reportedly admitted to having a substance abuse problem. Around Fox News:

According to TMZ Sportsciting a recent court filing, Jordanian lawyers aim to put him in a pretrial substance abuse education and treatment intervention program.

The program reportedly stated that it would “serve the community by not only providing personal benefits to him, but also reducing the likelihood of future crime.”

Jordan did not admit disorderly conduct and conflict to resist arrest during the 2012 incident in Omaha, Nebraska.
