The mobile phone video shows the arrest of Columbia University anti-Israel activist Mahmoud Khalil by federal immigration agents.
The two-minute clip shows several immigration agents facing off against Halil in the lobby of his university-owned residence informing him that he will be “arrested” and ordering him to “stop resistance.”
“This is not necessary,” replies Halil, who is in handcuffs. “I'll go with you. There's no need to worry.”
The video's perspective comes from “his wife, 8 months pregnant,” American citizen Noor Abdallah. The ACLU social media post said.

Halil can hear him tell her “call Amy Greer,” lawyer, Amy Greer, as he's leaving the building.
Halil's wife then presses agent for details such as name.
“We won't name it,” added Halil, “we're being taken to immigration custody at 26 Federal Squares.”
Abdallah couldn't get an answer when asked which agency worked.

The video was released by Halil's lawyers the same day the Justice Department announced that the university was investigating whether it had hidden “illegal aliens” on campus.
Khalil, a 30-year-old green card holder, was arrested by an Immigration Customs Enforcement (ICE) official on March 8th.

He is facing a possible deportation over his suspicious support for Hamas, and released a statement from within the detention facility he is holding this week.
With a letter Halil, released by his lawyers on Tuesday, characterized his arrest as “indicating anti-Palestinian racism.” He also denounced the Colombian government. This includes former university president Minush Shafik.
