Frequently reported rumours that ESPN will buy NFL media have turned into serious as details of the proposed purchase suggest that the deal could be imminent and historic.
On his podcast, Marchand Sports MediaAthletic's Andrew Marchand says ESPN's acquisition of NFL media would cost $2 billion and could give the league ownership of the network.
“Looking back at 10 or 15 years, if this contract breaks down, this could be a very important point for ESPN's growth. I said. “I think it's pretty important whether it will happen in the next few months.”

Such a transaction will not be completed in time for the two networks to merge and combine coverage from the April draft. However, due to the possibility of control of the draft, the transaction could take place earlier than later.
