Remembering longtime KU sports broadcaster Bob Davis

Bob Davis, the longtime voice of basketball and soccer for the Kansas Jayhawks, has passed away, his family confirmed via KU's athletics club on Friday. He was 80 years old.

Davis passed away just a week after his wife, Linda, who has been in his 50-year-old life. The cause of death was not immediately announced. Kansas Basketball head coach Bill Self remembered Davis as a “selfish person.”

“Bob is not only excellent in his craft, but he was also a wonderful, humble and unselfish person who gave himself to so many people,” Self said. “Our minds come out to the whole family, especially his wonderful wife, Linda, has passed by last week.”
