George Glezmann sees ‘champion’s welcome’ after Taliban release

Taliban hostage George Grezman landed at Andrews' joint base in Maryland on Friday after receiving a “champion's welcome” in Afghanistan for more than 800 days of confinement.

“I feel like I've been reborn,” Grezman told Fox News. “I have no words.”

“President Trump is amazing,” he added before thanking Secretary of State Marco Rubio, national security adviser Mike Waltz, hostage envoy, Adam Bohler.

“Free American… accused for my US passport.”

“There are no words to express gratitude for my freedom,” added Grezman.

His wife, Alexandra, arrived shortly after her husband landed, and after getting out of the car for the first time since December 5, 2022, the two hugged after being captured in Kabul.

Ryan Corbett, a Taliban prisoner and released in January in nearly 900 days, welcomed Grezman on arrival.

Both Grezmann and Corbett were detained together in Afghanistan.

News of Grezman's release was first revealed to Fox News Digital on Thursday after heading to Doha, Qatar, which departs from Kabul International Airport.

His release was secured by American hostage envoy Adam Bohler and Qatari officials who engaged in direct communication with the Afghan Taliban.

Bowler meets Grezman in Kabul and flies with him to a Maryland base just outside Washington.
