PORT ST. Lucy – The path to Brett Batty and Louissangel Acknya starting their season with the Mets as part of Saturday's roster has been revealed.
Specifically, Donovan Walton was told he wouldn't be on the team.
Walton was the last infielder in the camp, competing with Bati and Aknya for work.
Still, manager Carlos Mendoza stopped saying Bati and Acknya would open a season with the Mets.
Baty has been one of the team's best performances this spring, showing that Jeff McNeil can be on the sidelines on the sidelines with a tense oblique performance while posting an OPS of 1.123.
Acuña offers options in 2 bases, shortstops and 3 bases.
Chris Devensky, Jose Ureña, Genesis Cabrera and Jackson Lietz were also informed that they weren't part of the first day's roster.
Reetz's removal from the mix cleared the pass Hayden Senger stuck with as a backup catcher, but Mendoza said the decision was not official yet. Senger was home with the Nationals in a 5-5 tie.
Reed Garrett, Jose Bato and Danny Young were informed that they would be on the opening day roster.

AJ Minter He pitched a scoreless inning with a strikeout.
The left-handed bailout will pitch again on Monday – giving him two appearances in three days.
