Border Emperor Tom Homan on Sunday said officials were “confident” that all the migrants who were deported were members of the Venezuelan gang.
In an interview with ABC “this week” he reiterated that all migrants in the flight are members of Gang Tren de Aragua (TDA), and pointed out that several officials are confident in their decision.
“Many officers, many criminal investigators, special agents who have been doing this for decades have reviewed intelligence information, criminal investigator information, all the different social media and surveillance, government and public records, and I am sure they are all members of the TDA,” he said.
“We actually use book laws to enforce immigration laws, ensuring borders at the highest level ever,” Homan added.
When he pushed whether to release information about deportation, Homan said the decision would need to be “sue in court.”
“There will be more lawsuits on this case, but what we did — what was done by the Trump administration, was completely following federal law. It was once again enacted by Congress and signed by the president,” he added.
“We haven't made this up. We have laws enforced around books.”
Homan's comments come in a tense legal battle after President Trump attacked U.S. District Judge James Boasberg.
