Bernie Sanders gets up following AOC-related “This Week” question

Senator Bernie Sanders, I-Vt. Arriving in a pre-taped ABC “This Week” interview that aired Sunday, Jonathan Carl accused Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (DN.Y.) of asking “nonsense” questions about whether or not they should run for the Senate.

Shortly after calling Ocasio-Cortez “extraordinary,” Sanders did not answer questions about whether he wanted to see her in the Senate. After Schumer supported the government's funding bill to avoid partial shutdowns, he strengthened speculation about AOC Senate minority leader Chuck Schumer taking on the primary.

“Like I said, we have a lot of people in Congress. OK, Jonathan. Thank you,” Sanders said, standing up from his seat.

Carl told the senator he had another question.

“Well, I ask you – you know, you want nonsense, you want nonsense. No, I don't want to talk inside Beltway's stuff. I've won 32,000 people,” Sanders said.

Carl convinced Sanders to go back and sit.
