OpenAI, Meta in talks with Reliance for AI partnerships, The Information reports

The Openai and Meta platforms are holding separate discussions over potential partnerships with the Indian Reliance industry and are expanding the domestic offering of artificial intelligence, the Technology News website reported on Saturday.

Possibility discussed included the relationship between Reliance Jio and Openai for distributing ChatGpt, according to information cited two sources familiar with the issue.

Openai also discussed CHATGPT subscription prices with employees who would cut CHATGPT subscription prices by a few dollars lower than $20 a month.

In addition to information reports, Reliance said it was discussing selling OpenAI models to enterprise customers through its application programming interface and that the Mukesh Ambanime-led conglomerate also discussed hosting and running the Openai model so that it can retain data from local customers within India.

In particular, Reliance discussed the operation of the Meta and Openai models at the 3 Gigawatt data center the company plans to build.

Meta declined to comment on the information report.

Openai and Reliance did not immediately respond to requests for comment on the report.

Reliance Industries is one of India's largest conglomerates, engaged in petrochemists, refining, oil and gas exploration, communications, retail and green energy.
