Mia Love, a former Republican senator from Utah's fourth district, passed away Sunday at the age of 49 after a multi-year battle with brain cancer.
Mia Love's family announced that they had passed the pass through her X account on Sunday.
“I want you to know that she passed away peacefully today, in a heart that I am grateful for being overflowing with Mia's deep influence on our lives. She was in a home surrounded by her family,” the announcement said.
“In the midst of an avalanche of her life and happy memories, Mia quietly slipped the band of death, spiked heaven as her words and visions have always been,” it continued. “We are grateful for the many good wishes, prayers and the dedication of Pathetic Dol. We are spending our time as a family and will provide information on funeral services and public celebrations of her life in the future.”
Just 12 hours before the announcement, the last words to Miarab followers were an expression of gratitude to her friends and family.
“I am very grateful to my parents, especially my dad. He has helped me to know what he saw in me. I am grateful to Jason and the tag team in raising my kids. I hope to find you and each of you and your voice, live with the characters and lead the next generation,” she said.
After serving as mayor of Sarasota Springs between 2010 and 2014, Love served in the US Congress for four years between 2015 and 2019 before losing his seat to Democrat Ben McAdams. She publicly opposed Donald Trump throughout his first term, but her vote record side According to the five-person vote, he has 96% of his time in Congress with him.
