Donald Trump remarked that Jeff Bezos expressed concerns about the staff at the Washington Post being “out of control.”

“He remarked, 'This is insane. I've lost significant money managing this thing, and they’re out of control,” Trump conveyed during an interview.

Fox News reported:

President Donald Trump stated in a recent interview that he felt positive about his working relationship with Jeff Bezos and the future of the Washington Post, asserting that Bezos had jokingly showcased the newspaper employees to him.

“They actually published some unfavorable articles for him (Bezos),” Trump mentioned in an interview with Outkick's Clay Travis. “He said, 'This is ridiculous. I've lost my assets managing this operation, and they (post newsroom employees), they’re completely out of control. These individuals are absurd.

“(Bezos) is a solid guy,” Trump continued. “I didn't really know him during my first semester, which indicates the difference between now and then.”

Jeff Bezos had earlier mentioned modifications to the opinion page of the Washington Post.

They are currently focused on advocating for “personal freedom and the free market.”

I shared this memo with the Washington Post team this morning.

I want to inform you about the upcoming changes to our opinion page.

We publish daily with the backing and defense of two principles: personal freedom and a free market. Naturally, we will cover other subjects, but views opposing these principles will be expressed by others.

Historically, newspapers, particularly those with local dominance, may have perceived themselves as a platform presenting a wide array of opinions every morning, attempting to accommodate all viewpoints. Today, the Internet fulfills this role.

I take pride in supporting America and its values. Our nation did not reach this point by being conventional. A significant part of America’s success stemmed from freedom in the economic domain and beyond. Freedom is ethical, reduces coercion, is practical, and fosters creativity, innovation, and prosperity.

I have invited David Shipley, who I greatly respect, to lead this new phase. I suggested to him that if the response wasn't “yes,” it needed to be “no.” After thoughtful consideration, David chose to step down. This represents a substantial change, is not effortless, and demands complete dedication. I appreciate his choice. To steer this new direction, we will seek a new opinion editor.

I am confident that the principles of the free market and personal freedom are beneficial for America. I also believe these viewpoints are not adequately represented in the current landscape of ideas and news opinions. I am eager to address that gap together.
