Fire chief threw baby daughter because she ‘wouldn’t stop crying’: police

The Pennsylvania Fire Chief has been charged with cracking the skull of a baby daughter. It is said that he admitted to the police that he “threw her to the ground” because she “can't stop crying.”

Fallstownship Fire Chief Brian Salt, 36, allegedly he didn't know how he was injured when his three-month-old daughter first brought it to her step-house, court documents show. NBC Philadelphia gets.

However, concerns staff at the Philadelphia Children's Hospital contacted police when the baby was taken there with a broken skull.

The fire chief then told investigators that he “forced” his daughter out of the swing, “takes the child out and throws the child onto the ground,” Fallstownship Police Detective Dennis O'Connell told the outlet.

Salt accused the 3-month-old, 3-month-old, “he was “unstood crying and was extremely loud at the time” and “overly irritated.”

It was particularly shocking as Salt, who works as a firefighter and EMT for Northampton Township Fire, added, “You should clearly know how to deal with this nature of all sorts of stressful situations, especially when your child is involved.”

The fire chief was arrested last Thursday and booked at the Bucks County Jail on charges of putting the welfare of a child at risk, exacerbating the assault and endangering a simple assault.

He is scheduled to appear in court on April 2nd. His daughter's condition was not immediately clear.

Salt was suspended indefinitely from his role as fire chief. said in a statement on Friday.

“We understand the impact this situation will have on our community and are committed to ensuring transparency as we move forward,” the fire department said.

Falls Township is a community of approximately 34,000 residents, located about 20 miles northeast of Philadelphia.
