Voting fraud concerns go back to the 2023 elections in Connecticut's biggest city, which are judicial in 2023, with state lawmakers refraining from methods of reforming the system after dozens of criminal charges have been filed in the latest case.
On Monday, Republican leaders asked Attorney General Pam Bondi to investigate whether the “election crimes in Bridgeport” that led to the charges were “part of a larger coordinated effort to fraudulent voters across the state.”
“Connecticut has made embarrassing international news due to absentee voting fraud that has been caught up in viral video,” Walcott Sen. Rob Sampson and Brookfield Sen. Stephen Harding said in a joint comment on Fox News Digital.
Sampson is currently a ranking Republican for both House Government Administration and Election Committees, taking into account the bill.

“Everyone saw it,” the Republican said of the various CCTV tapes in Bridgeport, where official Civil Democrat Wanda Getter Pataky allegedly stacked the votes and inserted numerous votes into dropboxes outside city hall.
The report at the time characterised the effort as someone trying to benefit Mayor Joe Ganim John Gomez, and was eventually infused with the controversy between the two men that fell into the 2024 court order “redo.”
Sampson and Harding said legislative Republicans would write to Bondi to formally request a federal investigation into whether election crimes in Bridgeport are part of a larger, coordinated effort to fraudulent voters across the state.
They added that the two bills presented at the committee on Friday (SB 1515 and SB 1516) were so inadequate and did not meet the moment.
SB 1515 establishes a local government election accountability committee that provides oversight of town and city elections and related referendums.
SB 1516 will “expand certain post-election procedures” regarding revisions to vote returns and better regulate “curb votes,” which prohibit voters from being seated in voters' vehicles. It will also set up a major city election monitor that is valid for the 2025 off-year elections, and prohibit the commercial use of certain voter registration information.
“We are pushing for Bridgeport Democrats to remove national and individual campaigns from the absentee voting process, empowering the state government in the region is not the solution,” the GOP leader said.
“Connecticut Democrats have not shown their desire to adopt our common sense reforms.”
Watters: Voter fraud needs to be investigated
House Speaker Matt Ritter, representatives of D-Hartford, overseen the digital to the Senate, where Senate President Protem Martin Rooney of New Haven, did not respond.
Many of the recommendations in SB 1516 reflect Secretary of State Stephanie Thomas' recommendations, according to the Senator. In the lower room, House Minority Leader Vincent Candelora called the state's election fraud “a serious problem” in a comment on Fox News Digital.
“The residents know that, so does this country,” said Candelora of R-East Haven.
Candelora said that if he commits election hijink, bad actors must be told they will face prison time.
“Until Congress sends that message, intent to misconduct will always find a way,” he said.
Earlier this month, five Democratic officials, including Geter-Patakay, were charged with about 150 election-related crimes, according to the report. Connecticut Post.

Democrat Connecticut Gov. Ned Lamont argued that “potential corruption” was linked to early voting and absentee voting.
“I think it's the people who corrupt it,” Lamont said.
According to the Conservative Heritage Foundation's Voter Fraud Report, Geter-Pataky created “10 drops, either directly or indirectly,” with another woman giving five separate votes during Bridgeport's 2023 mayoral primary.
Meanwhile, the judge who overturned the election ruled that “the outcome of the false election is “false incorrect” to call the outcome of the primary a serious suspicion and prevent the court from determining the rightful outcome of the primary, and to make it “false incorrect” results.
a Connecticut Post Reports on many of the accusations since the beginning of this month said the “majority” was filed against Geter-Pataky, with other defendants including councillors Alfredo Castillo and Maria Pereira.
Gomez opposes Republicans' dislike of the bill; Hartford Coolant A city accountability committee outlined in SB 1515 is required. He pointed to criminal charges, but reportedly the town clerk was allowed to insert votes into the totes used to empty the dropbox.
