Russell Wilson played on another NY team before Giants — Yankees

Russell Wilson is now playing for New York.

But this is not the first time.

Wilson agreed to a one-year deal with the Giants on Tuesday, but seven years ago this month, the former Signal Caller got a chance with the Yankees and the Pinstripes.

Rewind, the 10-inning Pro Bowl quarterback once had an intriguing baseball outlook, but was drafted twice in 2007 by the Big League Club (2010 Rockies) and signed with the Rockies in the latter example after playing baseball in NC State.

He followed a similar path to his father, Harrison Wilson III, who played the same two sports at Dartmouth.

Wilson played as a baseman for his second year in the Rockies minor league system, reaching a full season of Singles A in 2011, but after moving to Wisconsin he focused on football.

He was taken to the Rangers in the Triple A phase of the 2013 Rule 5 draft, and Wilson would eventually take part in spring training with Texas while leading the Seahawks for the next two years, winning the Super Bowl at Metlife Stadium all-located in 2014.

Three years later, the Rangers traded him for the Yankees for future considerations, and on March 2, 2018 Wilson got the opportunity to play in a Grapefruitreeg match against the Big League club.

“We've been admiring Russell's career from afar for quite some time,” Yankees GM Brian Cashman said.

At the fifth bottom, Wilson came out to the judge's place and faced with fried food heading for the fried food.

Wilson fell to 0-2 holes before swinging with a 93-mile fastball.

“The best thing for me is I wasn't afraid. I went there with confidence,” Wilson told reporters after his at-bat. “I was ready. I remember it all the time. When they announced my name, when they called there, I remember, you go to plates and crowd madness, Yankees fans.

“I will never forget that in order to have that feeling and experience it.”
