Mets and Yankees have bright futures

Juan Soto chose the Yankees after signing with the Mets – when he said he gave him the “best chance” to win on a long (15 years) and a lucrative ($765 million) contract by playing for Queens, especially when the “winning” he designated meant the World Series, which he said he gave him the “best chance” to get him the “best chance”.

“We saw what other teams want to do and what everyone wants to do for the next 15 years. I think there's a great opportunity here,” Soto said.

For almost all of the past 30 years, most observers would have said Soto was wrong and the Yankees were an easy choice in that category, but that's not the case anymore.

The Yankees reached last season's World Series, where they lost to the Dodgers in five games, but the Mets showed they weren't too late, losing to the same Dodgers team in six games in the NLCS.
