Authorities say a Florida mother was arrested this week after her 2-year-old daughter was found to have “fine-tuned” drugs in hospital.
Debra Scott, 29, took the toddler to a Marion County emergency room on March 21, and told hospital workers he was “behaving like crazy, swinging his arms, bouncing off the wall, and staying awake for hours.
However, the medical examination revealed that infants have symptoms in common with adults who are “fine-tuning” from strong and highly addictive drugs, officials said.
Authorities say lab tests show the helpless girl is exposed to exposure to methamphetamine and other meth drugs, indicating that additional tests are exposed to opiates.
Staff at the hospital involved immediately called the police.
Authorities say Scott, who recently moved to Bronson's home with her boyfriend and daughter, saw the symptoms 12 hours before taking the girl to the hospital.
And she never warned the police.
Instead, she called a friend who drove them to a hospital far away, the sheriff's office said.
When the detective asked Scott about it, she allegedly admitted to using Meth recently.
Officials said the troubled mom and girl lived with her roommate and mom's girlfriend in a home known for her drug use.
Scott was arrested Tuesday and charged with felony negligence of a child; WCBJ reported.
The Levy County Sheriff's Office denounced the mother in a press release.
“She intentionally put her child at risk and was unable to protect her from dangerous drugs while using dangerous drugs.”
