Mitchell Robinson suffered a season-ending ankle injury late in the first round with the 76ers after serving as a shocking big body and rim protector from the Knicks bench in the playoffs last spring.
After undergoing surgery in May, the start center cost more than four months ago to launch the 2024-25 campaign, but the 7-foot Robinson’s physical fitness contribution should once again be needed with the Knicks’ upcoming series with the Pistons and its talent and physical big.
The 27-year-old Robinson recorded 17.1 minutes per game in 17 appearances after his latest injury absence.
He and import center Karl Anthony Towns played 47 minutes in a two-big alignment, achieving some success, surpassing their opponents of 9.2 points per 100 owners.
Duren and Stewart only played eight minutes throughout the season for Detroit.
“It’s a small sample size. But we had some good time with them. We’re stretching here, especially since Mitch was able to get more rhythms. “It depends, a lot of it depends on who they have on the floor, but I like it so much.”
Much of the Knicks’ defensive focus will be on including All-Star Point Guard Cade Cunningham, but veteran gunner Malik Beasley It also connects from 3-point land, including a career-high 41.6% this season, with seven maid trays and 23 points against the Knicks on December 7th.
“He could shoot all the time, and I’ve seen it first hand,” said Towns, a former teammate of Beasley, of the Timberwolves. “I think he beat Anthony with us in Minnesota. [Edwards] I just broke it now.

“I always know he is an incredible shooter game, and he is one of the best shooters this league has to offer.
“He’s clearly a tough guard. We have someone I know very well. We definitely have to find a way to limit his three.”
