The New York Giants are looking for a franchise quarterback, but the solution may not reach the 2025 NFL Draft.
The Giants signed both Russell Wilson and Jamis Winston this offseason, but neither of them were handed over long term contracts. Wilson signed for a year and Winston signed for two years.
Giants general manager Joe Shane said, along with Wilson and Winston, the team is not planning to “force” a quarterback selection on the third overall pick in next week’s NFL Draft.

“I think signing these two players put us in a position that we don’t think it is essential.
“The two guys we signed are playing a lot of balls. They have a lot of skins on the wall. I think we upgraded that room compared to a year ago.

If Titans actually draft the ward, the Cleveland Browns can choose between Heisman Trophy winner Travis Hunter, Penn State Star Abdul Carter, or Colorado quarterback Shedur Sanders.
If the Browns don’t choose Sanders and he stays on the board for the Giants, Shane said the values must match to get the Giants to take Colorado quarterback.
“If the value matches what is in the player, there’s an opportunity to take a position. If it’s not the right value, don’t force it. There’s a board lined up, we’re lined up on the watch, that’s the position we want to go to,” Shane said.

The Giants have done extensive work at many quarterbacks as they plan to host Sanders, Alabama’s Jalane Milllow and Louisville’s Tyler Shaff for private training on each Fox Sports.
If they chose not to take Sanders with a third overall pick, the Giants could choose a quarterback with one of their mid-round picks, especially with a 34th overall pick at the top of the second round.
