Dems Want ‘Welfare Checks’ on Illegal Aliens Deported to El Salvador

House Democrats say they want to conduct “welfare checks” on illegal foreigners who have been deported from the US to Centro de Confinient del Terrorismo (CECOT) Mega Prison in El Salvador.

in letter Oversight Committee Chairs James Comer (R-KY), Robert Garcia (D-CA) and Maxwell Alejandro Frost (D-FL) will require the committee to approve a trip to El Salvador, allowing at least two illegal aliens to visit.

“We will visit the Centro de Confinamiento del Terrorismo (CECOT) with respect for the permission of the Member Delegation of the Congress (Cordel).

Garcia and Frost say they want to visit the 29-year-old illegal alien kilmer Abrego Garcia, accused of being a member of the MS-13 gang, who was deported after illegally crossing the border in 2011.

Democrats also say they would like to visit 30-year-old Andry José Hernandez.

“The delegation of parliament will allow committee members to conduct welfare checks against Abrego Garcia and others held at CECOT,” writes Garcia and Frost. “…And following President Trump’s recent remarks, Congressional oversight has been justified, expressing his desire to send “in-house criminals” (including US citizens) to the facility.”

“We are ready to travel as soon as possible,” they wrote. “We are happy to include Republicans on the committee who wish to participate. Given that the Senate has already approved a Cordless trip to CECOT, we believe the home should also be represented.”

Today, Sen. Chris Van Hollen (D-MD) leads Democrats on a trip to El Salvador, visiting illegal exiled foreigners, including Abrego Garcia.
