Most Mainland Americans Back Expanding Mineral Production in Alaska

According to a research memo obtained only by Breitbart News, most mainland Americans want to see an expansion of production across Alaska’s major industries, including key minerals, timber, timber, oil and natural gas products.

Future 49 public opinion strategy surveys found that the majority (87%) of the 1,027 respondents in lower 48 states (87%) had positive perceptions of Alaska. Their view of Alaska is even more positive than their feelings about their residence status, registered at 75%.

Support increased from 64% to 70% after voters received “additional information on important minerals available in Alaska,” particularly with regard to mineral sourcing.

One additional information provided to respondents is that 49 out of 50 minerals in Alaska are important in modern industry. 80% say this is “convincing as a reason to increase mining activities.”

Another information 77% said is a compelling factor for increasing mining is that the state’s “high standards and strict environmental regulations provide safer resource extraction compared to foreign sources.”

The third memo provided to respondents is to increase mineral production in Alaska to reduce reliance on enemies like China. Of the respondents, 73% said this was a compelling factor.

The survey also found that seven in 10 participants believe that “Alaska needs to have more control over its land and resources to determine its own economic future without excessive federal restrictions.”

Similarly, 64% said, “The federal government should increase Alaska’s economic opportunities by prioritizing domestic sourcing of key minerals, oil and gas.”
