What moment Piston’s J.B. Bickerstaff pinpointed as season turnaround

The Knicks served as a spark of the Pistons’ stunning rise this season.

A year after finishing in an NBA-Worst 14 victory, the Pistons went 44-38, marking one of the biggest turnarounds in league history.

What inspired them to have confidence that could become a legal playoff candidate?

“There were two games in my mind that stood out as something that changed mood, or changed belief,” Pistons coach JB Bickerstaff told SiriusXM NBA radio on Frank Isola and Brian Scalabrin. “One of them happened to be in Madison Square Garden, where we played the Knicks and we were able to come out with victory there. It felt like we were beginning to believe we could compete and beat some of the better teams in this league.”

The Pistons’ 120-111 victory on December 7th was the Pistons’ 120-111 victory.

Before that game, the piston was 9-15. But from that game they went 35-23.

“We were saying, ‘We’re going to keep this up, we keep building it, we keep getting better, we have a chance,'” Bickerstaff said.

Last year, Mikal Bridges missed the playoffs online for the first time in three years.

He’s doing itchy things to come back.

“I’m really excited to go,” Bridges said. “I feel like the year off is a very long absence without playing the playoffs. I’m also excited by the atmosphere. It’s going to be a really good series.”

He is also the only player in the Knicks’ rotation that advanced to the final he did with the Suns in 2020-21.

PJ Tucker won the championship with the Bucks (beating the Bridges Suns), but is not expected to play much in the postseason.

Bridges shares advice with his teammates.

“It all starts with one game at a time,” Bridges said. “You can’t look ahead. I think you’re a fan. You guys need one game at a time. It’s just one game, you play the best basketball, the best version for 48 minutes and then you go from there.”
