A Michigan House Democrat admitted that he drew a childish “mystery” on one of his Republican colleagues after taking up two spaces in designated parking lots.
Shortly after Thursday afternoon, state legislator Julie Brixey (D-Meridian Township) and staff entered the area of the parking garage of the house where Rep. Matt Maddook (R-Milford) was parked. According to security footage sent to Blaze News, Brixie made several passes around Maddock’s vehicle, which Brixie later identified as Saran Lap.
Not satisfied with waiting for Maddock to finish to discover her little joke. Brixie took him to the Capitol floor and said, “Co-workers, colleagues, can I pay your attention? Colleagues, I just came from the parking lot and I have a black BMW with license plate number, [redacted]the hood is open, the light is on, the engine is running. thank you. “
Of course, the hood of the car was not open, the lights were not on, and the engine wasn’t running. However, the car spanned two spaces. This is a mistake that comes from Republicans driving Maddock’s sedan in place of the truck that day, giving two spaces for its width.
“There’s someone who’ll wrap your car today… I might pull a knife tomorrow.”
“My good colleague in District 51 parked in two places, including mine, and made sure no one hit his flashy car,” said Brixie. I said. “Saran wrapped it up and gave it an extra layer of protection.”
In response, Maddock said, “I parked in an empty spot. I didn’t notice it would turn into a highlight of Brixie’s year.”
According to Detroit NewsBrixie later characterized Maddock’s poor parking lot and her reaction as “naughty.” But at least one Michigan journalist hasn’t laughed.
