Kilmar Garcia’s wife sidesteps ABC question about getting restraining order against him

Jennifer Vazquez Sula, the wife of an illegal immigrant whose deportation split America, suddenly closed her lips tightly when asked about the protection order she filed against her husband in 2021.

In a handwritten filing by Sula herself, she claims that Kilmer Abrego Garcia has repeatedly beaten her, saying, “At this point, I am afraid that I will be near him. [has] He left me. ”

“Good Morning America” ​​host Michael Strahan spoke to Sula on Friday about his controversial deportation to a mega prison in El Salvador.

After detailing how she and Abrego Garcia’s family were so delighted, he was able to be seen alive in a photo with Senator Chris Van Hollen.

After Sula denied that her husband was in MS-13 or other gangsters, the news host forced another issue.

“I know this is a sensitive question, but I have to ask. You issued a temporary protective order against your husband in 2021,” he said. “Did you fear your husband?”

Sula paused for a moment before dodging the question by repliing, “My husband is alive, that’s all.”

“Okay,” Strahan says, “I know that apparently I won’t push you against me.”

She ended the interview by declaring that Abrego Garcia would not stop fighting until she was safely home.

On Wednesday, Sula gave out an a statement Addressing domestic violence allegations: “After surviving domestic violence in a previous relationship, I acted carefully in accordance with my disagreement with Kilmer in search of a civil protection order in case things escalated. Things did not escalate, and I decided not to follow the civil court process.

“Our marriage only grew stronger in the next few years. No one is perfect, and marriage is not perfect,” the statement continued. “But that is not justification for the ice’s actions to accelerate him and force him into a country where he should be protected from removal.”

Abrego Garcia, a 29-year-old illegal immigrant from Maryland, was deported to the Megaprison Terrorism Confinement Centre (CECOT) in El Salvador last month. Authorities confirmed in court that his deportation was an administrative error. But now, Trump’s top officials say he was taken away correctly and claim he is a member of the infamous MS-13 gang.

Both the U.S. District Court and the U.S. Supreme Court ordered the Trump administration to “promote” the release of Abrego Garcia and return to the United States for a proper deportation lawsuit, and the federal appeals court rejected the administration’s request to block the order on Thursday.

In a 2021 submission, Sula claimed that Abrego Garcia punched her eyes, scratched her and left her bleeding. He also allegedly threw her laptop on the floor.

She wrote on another day that Abrego Garcia began screaming angrily again, grabbing her arm and torn her shirt and shorts before leaving the mark.

Sula recalled twice that Abrego Garcia attacked her in 2020.

“In November 2020, he hit me with his work boots,” she wrote. “In August 2020, he struck his eyes, leaving behind purple eyes.”
