Best bets, props for Round 1 of the Stanley Cup Playoffs

The Stanley Cup playoffs are scheduled to begin on Saturday, April 19th, with a showdown between the Canadian Life Centre Jets and the Blues.

Before you drop a pack in the best tournaments in all sports, run a few bets that hold the value that begins with the Stanley Cup sleeper in round 1.

Best Value to Win a Stanley Cup: Kings (20/1, betmgm)

If the defense wins a championship, you should consider a bet on the king.

The Kings allowed the second-most visible goal in the NHL this season, leading the league with a 5-5 expected goal.

The playoff teams have never done a better job limiting Heidanger’s chances of scoring as much as Los Angeles.

The first round date with Edmonton approaches the King, but the King has the right combination of defence, goaltending and scoring depths to fight the high octane Euler.

If the king can navigate that series, they will be filled with confidence entering a deeper round.

Best Player Props: Conor McMichael, Capitals, Most Goals of the Series (18/1, DraftKings)

The Canadians are pretty much the story.

One of the biggest long shots to make the playoffs from the season-opening odds, Habs went on a Cinderella run after a face-off break for the 4 Nations after a wild card spot.

Habs is a big underdog against the capital, which scored the highest record in the Eastern Conference.

Cap should be able to expose Montreal’s defensive flaws. If so, I’m aiming to have a big series for Conor McMichael.

The 26-goal guy finished third in goal shots in Washington, so there’s plenty of space to be made as the Habs focuses on closing Alex Ovechkin as his top priority.

Best Long Shot: Eric Robinson, Hurricane, Most Goals of the Series (300/1, DraftKings)

Let’s get hooked.

Do you want to bet on the NHL?

Eric Robinson is a deep Carolina Hurricane player, but he has had an effective season with 14 goals and 18 assists in 82 games.

The Hurricanes are famous for spreading their offense, which could mean that, especially if they’re short, they’ll need four goals to lead their series in scoring.

Robinson is a versatile player capable of reaching any line, so there’s no reason to believe his role is limited to points that even these odds make sense.

If you’re looking for one dart to throw in round one of the playoffs, this will be my pick.
