The father of murdered teenager Austin Metcalf denounced the protesters who had gathered against his son’s accused murderer, calling them “race baiters” “want to spit out their stories for their own agenda.”
His father, Jeff Metcalf, spoke to the Post on Saturday after 17-year-old Carmelo Anthony, 17, gathered at the stadium where 17-year-old Austin Metcalf allegedly stabbed him.
Organizers of a group called “Protect White Americans” have accused local governments of supporting what is called “anti-white hatred” and “anti-white violence” by releasing black Anthony on bonds.
“That’s it: the racebaiter,” Jeff Metcalf told the Post. “F-people who want to spit stories for their own agenda. They don’t give shit about my family. … about Carmelo Anthony’s family.”
Protect Americans was founded by Jake Lang, a self-proclaimed “political prisoner” who was arrested during the protest on January 6th and is currently running for the US Senate seat from Florida.
Metcalf said Lang invited him at a rally on Saturday and tried to win him with statistics about black violence and the rhetoric of “white lives.”
“I said, sir, it’s part of the problem. You are not part of the solution. I have nothing to do with you,” Metcalf said.
He will demand that Lang remove photos of his son from the Protect White Americans website and event flyer, and complain to the school board to grant protesters access to the stadium’s parking lot.
“want [the superintendent] To explain to me how I’ll have this white trash done on the school grounds where my son was murdered within two weeks. ”
However, the protesters claimed they were on the side of the Metcalf family.
“They are white so they listen to Austin Metcalf’s grave. If he were black, they wouldn’t have been mad at his grave,” said Phillip Anderson, a black man who was arrested in the January 6th riot.
The event attracted only about 40 protesters and half the counterproteters.
The police wall separated both sides, but two people were arrested, including a woman who allegedly scattered protesters in “Trump” hats.
Some witnesses say the man (Austin Hunter) physically threatens the woman, while others say they are just claiming, but Hunter is planning to press for accusations.
“Whenever I have the opportunity to put Democrats in jail, I’m going to do that,” he told the Post.
Saturday’s clash was the latest in a racially recharged culture war surrounding the fate of Anthony, who was charged with first-degree murder on $1 million bonds, until a judge lowered it to $250,000 and allowed him to leave prison for a home arrest.
Anthony allegedly told officers he was acting in self-defense when he was allegedly killed Metcalf at a high school track competition. Witnesses say Metcalf tried to push him out of his bleach seat when he pulled a knife from his backpack and stabbed him in his heart.
