The Department of Defense’s Effort to Reinstate Unvaccinated Troops Still Misses the Mark

Recent Department of Defense (DOD) update Guidance on the process of reviving service members who left the military for Covid-19 vaccine mandate. Some service members have returned to the military, but it is too early to call this a victory. It is too early to call this a victory, as this does not give proper justice to service members who have not addressed the many concerns raised by supporters of the issue.

To keep your recent policies in mind, consider a retirement package first It was provided A transgender seafarer who voluntarily quit his service. March, Navy announcement With a new DOD policy that prohibits transgender forces from providing services, transgender sailors who voluntarily separate will receive two years’ worth of separation salary.

Let’s compare this to the policies provided to isolated service members for vaccine mandate.

Recent Notes DOD personnel and prepared offices will allow unvaccinated service members to be ousted by more than 8,700 or “unwillingly separated.” Tens of thousands Those who chose to leave for delegation, or “voluntarily separated.” The term “voluntarily separated” seems like Orwellians to people like me who have lost career opportunities, suffered from persecution and left because of alternatives being kicked out.

An unwillingly separated service member may receive credits and hours on the service only if he agrees to the service for four years. However, the backpay is deducted from what you created when a service member is evicted and when you return to service.

Meanwhile, a much larger cohort of “voluntarily isolated” service members are not eligible for backpay and must serve for two years. To add humiliation to the injury, the Air Force is requesting airlines that want to return to sign documents that say “My decision is free, not enforced.” The language is bewildered and reflects a deep disconnect between the people of DOD writing these notes and the experiences of hundreds of thousands who suffered so badly under the mission. (When a former Air Force Intelligence Agency separated for mandate, pointed out this in X, the DOD Rapid Response account It is listed“We’re reviewing this.”)

So unlike transgender seafarers who receive two years of separation pay for voluntary separation, they will not receive anything separated due to vaccine missions that do not choose to return to service. On the other hand, those that are unwillingly separated will have the money they earned outside the services taken from backpay, resulting in a four-year service commitment.

Service members who rejected the Covid-19 shot are heroes who rose to the Constitution and deserve proper compensation and justice, whether they return to service or not. Their backpay should not be used as an arbitrarily calculated re-entry bonus.

This guidance has many other issues that have not addressed what supporters of the DOD vaccine mission have shared for years.

  • This guidance does nothing to help compensate for the lost opportunity of vaccine connectivity, due to unvaccinated DOD policies.
  • There is no approval that an order is illegal as FDA approved products are now available to service members at the time of delegation. (look 10 US Code §1107a. )
  • The senior leaders who enforce illegal orders and persecute their subordinates are zero accountable.
  • No assistance has been provided for the injured vaccine.

It’s good that DOD invites unvaccinated service members to return to their duties, but this policy does not do justice for these brave men and women. These heroic individuals suffered badly under an organization built on their leadership and trust. Many lives were destroyed and irreparably changed by the damage caused by this mission. The re-entry bonus for those who only choose to return is not justice, it’s a negotiation tip.

The DOD should assess whether their goal is simply to reunite some individuals or to do the right thing by those they have hurt. It really needs to do more to get things right.

Perhaps when they create guidance to support insulting service members who are adversely affected by missions, they will help ensure that they do it right, including those of us who have suffered under the mission and have defended the issue for the past few years.
