Austin Metcalf’s dad reveals he was ‘disrespected’ after being thrown out of Karmelo Anthony press conference, hoped to pray with accused killer’s family

The father of murdered teenager Austin Metcalf said he hopes to be able to pray with the family of his son’s murderer, but when he showed up at a press conference hosted and abandoned by the accused relatives earlier this week, he felt “disregarded.”

Karmelo Anthony’s family held a press event in Dallas last Thursday. This comes days after the 17-year-old was allowed to leave prison on house arrest.

However, the minutes stopped when Austin’s father, Jeff Metcalf, suddenly appeared. He thought it might be handled differently.

“They should have pulled me up [to the front] And, “Sorry, what about our pathetic dol?” The only thing I was saying was, “Now, can we pray together and show the world we have united together?” he posted on Saturday.

After the improvised appearance, both Metcalf and his ex-wife called their home with “shaking” pranks on the police, so he checked with the post.

He also resigned from his real estate job on Saturday, and is afraid of the safety of his colleagues and clients, he said.

But Metcalf said that showing up at the event meant that he didn’t mean illness – he simply wanted to portray the deceased teen as a violent bully in response to those who sloppy him online “on behalf of Austin.”

Metcalf said he wanted an apology from Anthony for his son’s actions, which allegedly stabbed 17-year-old Austin, 17, during a fight at a high school track competition in Frisco, Texas earlier this month.

What he didn’t expect was being escorted from the building by Dallas police.

At the meeting, Karmelo’s mother, Kala Hayes, shed tears about what she called “a lie and false accusations that she’d been told about us, especially over the past week.”

Anthony’s parents previously said that Metcalf acted in self-defense when he physically attacked him.

However, their latest statement in the private event space was delayed by 30 minutes as organizers tried to understand what they were doing about Metcalf coming in.

“I’m getting a text. My phone is exploding. It’s an f-da. He said, ‘Jeff, I’m leaving! I’m leaving! I’m leaving!” Metcalf recalled. “My ex-wife texts me: ‘Leave, leave, leave!” If I don’t get an F from there, they’ll call the police. ”

Dominique Alexander, an activist in the Next Generation of Action Network, later called Metcalf’s visit “disrespectful to his son’s dignity.”

Metcalf didn’t mind Alexander’s comments.

“After I leave, that Dominique… a gaslight from me – a gaslight from me. I say I’m rude, I’m so rude, I won’t show the dignity of my son… And I’m the same as any man, my character was assassinated.

“This is my point. We are both victims. My son is dead. They are sons. But that’s the end of the day. [Karmelo] We need to be responsible for his actions,” he said.
