It’s pretty difficult to understand how to handicap Wild for this series. Minnesota was hit so hard throughout the second half that the mission was simply to float in the playoff race.
Luckily, the Wild had built up their place from their hot start, allowing them to enter the dance despite the fact that Kirill Caprizov, Joel Erikson Ek, Jared Spurgeon and Jonas Brodin weren’t much chunked.
Before the injury crisis, Minnesota was one of the best teams in the NHL. But then the wild went down and almost collapsed from playoff photos.
What we can feel comfortable with is that Wild will become a stoic and defensive team who asks Caprizov, Matt Boldy, Marco Rossi and Joel Ericson Ek to make heavy offensive lifts.

Both of these teams have lowered their stretches and increased their strong defense numbers this season, but the main difference is that the Knights are much more proficient at creating offenses than the wild.
Perhaps that changes a bit as Minnesota is in good health, but it doesn’t change how Wild wants to play this game and the series.
